Bradley Halford is a normal 15 year old. He plays soccer and runs track. He gets decent grades. He has an unrequited crush on a cheerleader. He is also an orphan with a past that has been kept from him by his aunt and uncle, whom he’s lived with since his physicist father was brutally and mysteriously murdered eleven years ago. Despite that tragedy, he considers himself a very ordinary and typical teenager. One afternoon he comes home to a plain manila envelope with his name on it and a gold watch from his dead father. When he puts it on, he is transported to another time and another place, only to be returned to a drastically altered present, a present where the world, his world, is a much darker place. When he takes it upon himself to fix the past and his present, his efforts do not go unnoticed. With the discovery that the watch enables him to travel through time, he starts to uncover his family’s past until he realizes that his father’s murderers want the secrets of the watch for themselves. And they will stop at nothing to get it. Chased relentlessly by their agents through Central Florida with his best friend, at his side, Bradley must discover his past to protect his present. The first in a series, Time After Time, is a thrill a minute rollercoaster ride through the Reagan Assassination to the moon launch and the Kent State Massacre that ends in a shocking twist that’ll leave you waiting for the next chapter.

I picked up this book on a whim especially since I had never heard of the author before. But, all in all, it was worth the money. There were some rough spots in the text, but nothing so distracting that it took away from the story.Although this book is classified as science fiction, the only element of sci-fi in it is the time travel. I would have put it as more action/adventure than anything else. The story centers around Bradley, an orphaned teen, who is mysteriously given a watch that lets him travel through time. And at first he uses it just like a teen would. He travels back to different places and different times, watches the moon landing launch, things like that. There is even a side note about a girl he has a crush on and he stops what he is doing to travel back to help her out. Some may think that scene was unnecessary, but it is what a teenage boy in love would do, so I found it applicable.
If I have any complaints about the book, it might be that it is a bit long, even though I read it rather quickly. The story might have been a bit tighter, but after getting through to the end, those pieces that seemed out of place fit into the overall picture.
Either way, I do recommend this for all ages. There's no sex and very little language in it. There are some scary elements and suspense, but nothing too bad. It was well worth the 4 bucks I paid for it.

Time After Time Mark Stephens 9781470151126 Books Reviews
Overall I liked the story and the action the book had. Although I thought the author spent too much time (no pun intended) on his descriptions of every little detail. Aside from the time travel excursions in the beginning of the story there really wasn't anymore time traveling except for a couple more times and they weren't what I expected. The action parts were told nicely but again not very many and short lived.
If you are into dramas with a little action and a sci-fi flavor than you may enjoy this. If you are a big sci-fi buff than you'll be left disappointed.
